a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do

Micah and addison take dance together on thursdays at 11. Melissa has been taking addison in her car, which addison LOVES. She thinks it's just the coolest.

I think it's the coolest too, because I get to stay behind and nap with aiden.

So Melissa, when you call me this morning to talk about work (like we planned), and I don't answer... don't take it personally. My baby and I need our beauty sleep.

Sorry bout it.

Back to the Future

Check this out.. I just think it's so cool:

more of nothing

I think 30 rock is THE BEST show on tv. Laugh out loud funny.

On the contrary, desperate housewives is awful. I watched a couple of episodes recentlyi, and man is it BAD. In my opinon, of course.

Somehow we've managed to lose almost every valve to every sippy cup in this house. We still have the cups and lids, but only a few valves. How does that happen?

I guess it's the same way we lost all but 2 of our "non-kid" drinking glasses. Literally had only 2 left before buying more at Target.

Today mike took addy with him to the grocery store. TWO AND A HALF HOURS (CLOSER TO 3) HE WAS GONE. why can he not make decisions quickly? He just, in general, moves a little bit slower than the rest of us. And then he comes home with weird things, like strawberry eggos.

Moral of that story is: your husband is probably not like mine, so it shouldn't be a problem sending him grocery shopping.

I'm full of random thoughts today. Hope you don't mind.

in case you were wondering.

Dunkin Donuts is FAR superior to krispy kreme, in every regard.

I enjoy chillville on 101x on Sunday mornings. I kinda think I might be alone in this.

I witnessed a near-accident yesterday involving an idiot driver who looked EXACTLY like Adam Lambert.

I think the backyardigans is the cutest kids show ever.

I don't like glee anymore, and I'm really sad about it.

Competition season is here and I'm really excited. Super proud of my dancers. And proud of my sister for growing these dancers.

More later. Laundry calls.

Playing Hardball

Aiden used to be so good. I mean, he's still good. REALLY GOOD. But lately he's gotten into the very bad habit of taking forever to/resisting falling asleep. I nurse him, he drifts off, snaps out of it, sits right up and wants to feed on the other side. Fine, I oblige. Same thing happens, he dozes off and suddenly awakens. Repeat. And repeat. AND REPEAT. I'm not exaggerating.

So tonight I decided I'd feed only once on each breast and he'd have to self soothe after that. He fell TOTALLY asleep, I laid him in his crib, and he immediately sat up and cried. He's been standing in his crib for 25 minutes now. I keep checking on him (love the jack and jill bathroom- I can check on him without him seeing me) and there he wails- standing in the crib, staring at the door he wants me to walk through.

I wonder how long I will let this go on. He is hysterical. But I really want him to figure out that it's possible to just calm down and go to sleep on his own.

...shhh.... what is that? I hear NOTHING.

:-)

Catching Up

Did you know I was rear-ended last Wednesday? On my way to work, lady slipped on some ice and bumped me while I was sitting at a light. No damage to the car, but my neck (which was already hurting due to stress) completely froze up within 15 minutes. The next day was the worst- I hurt and was loopy from the muscle relaxers...

But, aside from that, which I have now recovered from (hopefully)... WE ARE ALL HEALTHY!

Hallelujah!

Aiden update: He is full on crawling now. And he's getting fast. Every morning when I go into his room, he's standing in his crib waiting for me. He pulls up on the coffee table, couch, stairs. He just wants to WALK! And climb! He still says mamamamama and he babbles babababa gagagaga. Still haven't heard dada yet, though :-(

Addison update: I'm having a hard time believing she's going to be FOUR in a few short months. She's growing up way too fast. Words I'd use to describe Addison: sweet, smart, strong willed, empathetic. She's awesome. She still loves dancing and asks me to show her/teach her moves all the time.

Just wanted to drop by and share SOMETHING to hold you over until a moment of genius strikes me. When that genius does strike me, I will first come here and share my wisdom and wit with you all- my loyal readers. Thank you for your patience.

I now bid you good night.

delusions of grandeur

Well, In theory 10 on 10 was a good idea. But wow. There's not enough time in a day for silly pictures. Oh well. I gave it a shot.

I have abbie and jude here while addison is at dance with micah and auntie. Aiden is asleep upstairs so they're playing quietly downstairs. They're such amazing kids. Love them so much.

10 on 10

I follow the hilarious Melissa Beck (yes, she was on Real World New Orleans) and she is doing something called 10 on 10. On the 10th of each month you take a picture on each hour (or as close to it as you can) for 10 hours. A neat way to document day to day life.

So, photo number 1 for 11:00 coming right up.

crap.

My mother-in-law saw my bathroom today. (read: my mother-in-law saw my big-ass pile of laundry today.)

If that's not enough to get my butt into gear, I don't know what is.

1 load down, 10 to go. I'm not even kidding.

Thrush

Aiden has thrush again, which means I have thrush again, which means that he is fussy and that feedings are painful.

Sigh... It's always something...
