Remember Me?
Oh! Hey, girl!! What's been going on?! Oh, me? Not much. Just NOT blogging for a month and a half.
What the ?!?!
I'm sorry, y'all. I don't know what to say. Life is busy. It's competition season. My kids are in a cycle of sick, passing each others germs back and forth and back and forth. Well that AND I got a new iPhone AND a kindle fire for Christmas. The fact that I never use my laptop anymore paired with my crazy busy family and business... blogging has not been a priority.
I know I need to get back on the blogging train. Instead of trying to play catch up with everything that's happened over the last couple of months, I am going to jump right in and pretend I never left.
Aiden is sick. Was diagnosed with strep, double ear infections AND a stomach virus on Friday. Poor lil bubby. He was so sick. He's much better now but still runs a low grade fever and is fussy and irritable. So I'm taking him back to the doctor this afternoon.
Addison has been eating us out of house and home and is now solidly wearing a size 5 in clothes. She's growing up so much and I just really don't think I like it. :(
RANDOM:
Here's a list of books I've recently read:
Not a Star by Nick Hornby: LOVED IT
Then Again by Diane Keaton: LOVED IT
Your Voice In My Head by Emma Forrest: LOVED IT
Carry Yourself Back To Me by Deborah Reed: LIKED IT
Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (and other concerns) by Mindy Kaling: LOVED IT
Seriously... I'm Kidding by Ellen Degeneres: DID NOT LIKE IT
And right now I'm reading 11/22/63 by Stephen King and I LIKE IT. I'm not sure I love how elaborate Mr. King gets, it feels a little *wordy*, but the story is great. It really is a great read.

Fun!
Addison and I went to Houston this weekend to attend Katy Kalz's wedding. It was such a fun girl's weekend with ginger, her girls and Bess. Melissa and her family were there too, but they didn't stay the night. Angel and Jennifer came to visit the hotel and we had a fun pajama party in the hotel! Addison played chutes and ladders with the kids and we grown ups had so much fun visiting and catching up!! It was a FUN weekend!!!

Eew
So I'm doing a cleanse. Actually, mike and I are doing a cleanse. Nothing crazy. Just avoiding refined foods, dairy, etc. And taking herbal supplements to help move things along, if you will. I'm on day 4 and just blew it by inhaling a bagel with butter. Omg I'm so mad at myself and I feel SO gross.
Wah.
Wah.

All About Aiden
Aww, Aiden is my buddy. He loves to cuddle, loves to give kisses, and I am happy to oblige. I love him SO!
Aiden is a talker. Always has been. It's always been lots of fun to "talk" back and forth with him. It's just that now we can actually understand some of what he says. The following is a list of random words I've noticed him using a lot lately. Clock
Night Night (nye nye)
Hi
Bye Bye (guy guy)
Light (yite!)
Lola (yola)
Kitty Cat (key ca)
Doggie (ga ge)
Daddy
Momma
Round and Round (rourourou)
Animal sounds:
Cow: Moo
Duck: wackwackwack
Horse: Nay
Cat: Meow
Dog: woof woof
He also can point to any body part when prompted. (well, MOST: like toes, knee, arm, fingers, hair, etc. Can't identify forearm, ankle and the like. YET)
Can verbally identify the following body parts:
Eye: eye
Nose: no
Ear: Eee
Mouth: Ma
Haie: Air
I think it goes without saying, he's absolutely perfect.

Well, I did it. I got through Grandma's memorial. Not sure what I said, not sure I ever will know what I said, as I can't imagine EVER watching video, but I guess it doesn't matter.
I had a few friends who came, and y'all- Holly, Ginger, Josh, Kalyn... you will never EVER know how much it meant to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Aaaaaand now I have a house to clean, gifts to buy, gifts to wrap, food to prepare, bills to pay, emails to return, blahblahblahblahblahblahblah.
Merry Christmas!

Grandma
I miss my Grandma so much it hurts.
It literally hurts.
I haven't felt this way in a long time. Weird to say, but the last time I remember feeling this way was when I felt "heartbroken". Years ago, before I was married, when I felt the literal ache of the loss of a loved one. A silly boy at the time, but I felt the pain none the less.
My heart aches. I miss her. I miss her so much. I am sad to have lost such a positive, sweet, precious role model in my life.
I've felt this way for two days now, and this is only part of the cycle. I always feel hope and joy after the heartache. I remember how lucky I was to have known her, and remember all of the wonderful times we shared. I am hopeful that I will be able to carry on her legacy. Hopeful that I will be able to make an impact on my own children and grandchildren the way that she did. Hopeful that I will live a life as full and as rich as hers.
She is a part of me, forever and always. I love her. I miss her.

sweet grandma
This is a video I will cherish always. Grandma is almost completely unresponsive anymore. She's on morphine every two hours and off of all of her other meds. Hospice is taking wonderful care of her.
This moment will always and forever be etched in my heart. I love her so.

Yo Gabba Gabba

My kids love Yo Gabba Gabba. I love Yo Gabba Gabba. We listen to the music in the car and I actually like it. I knew Yo Gabba Gabba was coming, but already had tickets to the Nutcracker and Mike and I decided it was too expensive/too much in one day to buy tickets. I was so bummed. Until Mike saw the Groupon Deal. 65% off tickets. Um, YES.
So after the first act of the Nutcracker we picked up Daddy and Aiden and all went to Yo Gabba Gabba. Poor Aiden was NOT feeling well, he'd had diarrhea and fever for 2 days. Naturally, being the amazing parents that we are, we gave him some motrin and brought him along. [I feel terrible about it if you can't tell :-( ] It just would have been too sad to have him miss it. He loves Yo Gabba Gabba almost as much as he loves me. :-)
Yo Gabba Gabba was such a great show and just so much fun. Addison and I danced almost the whole time! Aiden stayed in Daddy's lap most of the time, and even though you could tell he wasn't feeling great, the motrin definitely helped things and he had a fun time.
