sunglasses, high heels and tummy aches

Before I begin, I really don't mean for my posts to be epically long. I just have so much to share and so many pictures I love!

Anyhappyeastereventhoughiatetoomuchcandyandhaveastomachache, What a wonderful, LONG day!

We headed over to GaGa's house late this morning where Addison's first Easter basket awaited her.

Part of all of the kid's baskets were SUNGLASSES. Of course, Addy isn't looking at the camera in this pic, but the other kids are so cute, I couldn't resist posting.

Addison didn't take her sunglasses or shoes off ALL day (including nap time)

Time to hunt for eggs! (notice the shoes!)

She got good FAST!

Abbie showing off one of her cool eggs

Yes, this is a slight "crotch shot"... but this is literally what she did as soon as we came inside! She was wiped out! Too funny!

I LOVE this picture: O GaGa reading to sweet Micah

Okay. This was funny. Each of the kids also received a new swimsuit and life jacket (I forget exactly what they are called). They wanted to try everything on, so we took them outside to play with the bubbles that were in their baskets as well. We *might* have looked like crazy people playing outside in swimsuits and life vests. Oh, well. The kids had fun. Until we had to go back inside, but that's another story.

When we came home, we gave Addison one more basket, filled with goodies from Grammi. She loved everything! Thanks, Grammi!

I hope you and yours had a wonderful Holiday weekend. Now, I have to go take some medicine to soothe this upset tummy. Seriously, too. much. candy.

I screwed up.

Bad. I screwed up BAD.

Part of my job as a studio owner is to register our girls for all of their competitions. Next week's competition schedule came out on Friday and it wasn't until that point that I realized, I never registered our teams. So, I immediately got on the phone and left a message, sent an email, etc. Still waiting to hear back. I don't really want to go into detail as to how I let this happen: suffice it to say I honestly thought I had, I had checked it off my "to-do" list.

So now I have mothers who are (understandably) upset with me. I wish they knew how truly upset I am over this. I feel awful, and embarrassed, like a failure.

I am aware that mistakes happen. It just sucks when they happen and upset so many people. I hate feeling this way.

Oh no, you di-nt!

Last week, over the course of 5 days, I was asked twice if I was expecting. Like, having a baby.

OH NO YOU DI-NT!

The first occasion was stranger than the last. I had stopped, probably 2am, at a remote gas station somehere between Houston and home. I needed some pepto. (see the below post). I was at the counter, and the man asks me, "Is your husband with you?"

Um, no. I mean, "yeah, he's out there in the car with my friend."

"And your baby?" he replies. whaa?

"No, not my baby."

"Oh, so you're expecting?"

What the??? Can I just say that I was wearing my skinny jeans, a tight black tank top, and some hot heels. The heels don't matter, but I wanted to finish the picture for you. I looked cute. And not fat, if I do say so myself. Certainly not fat enough for anyone to EVER ask someone if they are PREGNANT!

So, what did I do? I paid for my pepto and left. Whatever.

THEN. Last Friday, I visited my Grandma. While I was in another room (the restroom, if you must know), I overheard Grandma's caregiver ask her, "so is this granddaughter expecting as well?" (as well as in, along with Melissa. You DO know she's expecting #4, right? It's true).

"So is this granddaughter expecting as well?"

Four days after the previous situation. A little insulting. I later told Melissa, it was hard not to cry about it. I mean, I KNOW I don't look pregnant. And anyone who would assume it's okay to ask if I am, is clearly just crazy. And that's all there is to it.

By the way, I was wearing dance pants and a tight tank top that day. No flowy tops, no poofy dresses- skin tight attire. WHATEVER.

So, what did I do? Nothing. Just came out and talked with my Grandma.

But I SWEAR. If someone else asks me anytime soon, I will not stay silent, I will have some choice words for the rude question assailant. They'd better hope I'm not in a bad mood.

a busy week

Lots to blog about... going to see how I do with keeping it short and simple. Prediction: I don't think I'll do too well.

Monday: Britney with LiAnne. Houston. We ate at a Steakhouse, Vic and Anthony's, a few blocks away from the Toyota Center, and stuffed ourselves with deliciousness: oysters, crab cakes, quail and the best dessert I have ever had... croissant bread pudding with caramel ice cream. Yes, read over again. Croissant bread pudding. With caramel ice cream. It was so good. So. Good. Ummm, it was all good until we were walking to the concert and LAnne started vomiting. Over and over again. She was okay during the concert, but then we both got sick on the way home. It was miserable. I still was sick the next day... oh, it was so awful. THEN Addison's school called me on Wednesday morning asking me to pick her up because she was vomiting. Anyway- we are all better now. And here are some pictures of Britney (who was so fun, and pretty and yes, she lip synchs, but we had 5th row seats and it was awesome, so whatever).

Friday afternoon we joined Addison's cousins for Easter Egg Dying. This was very fun- all of the kids were excited and it was so very cute.

Sweet Jude

Micah. Give me a break.

She did a very good job! Kept it clean and was super careful!

Saturday Mike took a 4.5 hour math certification test and I spent all day in Buda at a dance competition. Our girls did awesome, which is becoming habit :) They consistently make me super proud. Even though my job requires me to be away from home frequently, I wouldn't trade it for any other job. I love my studio, my staff and my students. I am very blessed. No pictures, because I don't have parent's permission... but of course all of the dancers were beautiful.

Today Mike and I went to the orange and white jamboree- the Longhorn's first game- their offense vs. their defense. This was really fun, we appreciated a day out in the beautiful Austin weather. After the scrimmage we walked around campus before heading home... a perfect afternoon.

And to sign off, a lovely tantrum courtesy of Angel Addison:
