Addison was so excited for this day! We had to prepare 6 plastic eggs to take to school. Here she is stuffing the eggs:
Then carefully placing the eggs in the egg carton:
She was so excited and proud!
Today at school... Here comes Addison and her class!
Hunting
Addison and her best pal, Erin. Love these girls!
Showing off her hunted eggs!
The kids went back to the class for a little cookie party. They were very serious about their cookies! :-)
Again, thanks to Bethany School for organizing such fun events for the kids. She had so much fun!

Helping Auntie
While I helped* Melissa paint and move into her new house, Addison and Micah played. They are so cute together, I just love it. (Hai, you'll notice I played with the exposure compensation on my camera. At least I hope you will).
And, how PRECIOUS is Annalie? SOOOO Sweet!
And another sweet pic of Addy, Annalie and GaGa
*helping: consisted of sitting my happy belly on their new couch and giving a comfort report hourly. I also sat on a chair and kept her company while she painted her bathroom. And of course I took pics of the cute kids. You're welcome, Melissa and Adam.
Congrats to the Best Family... your new home is precious and a perfect home for you guys. Keep up the hard work, you'll be living comfortably before you know it :) Love you guys!

Bad Mom of the Year Award Goes to...
ME!
Today Addison had her first dental appointment. I am aware that it is suggested that they see their first dentist at a year old. Addy's 2 months away from 3.
ANYWAY, we've had the appointment made FOREVER, and today was the day! We went to Dr. Jenny at Little Smiles Pediatric Dentistry. She did great, teeth looked good, and we go back in 6 months for another cleaning!
The end!

Apparently...
Today one of my student's grandfathers commented on how "HUGE" I am. Apparently his daughter, my student's mother, just had a baby boy: 9lbs.
And apparently, I am bigger than she was when she delivered.
And apparently, I am just as big as some people he's known who have carried twins full term.
And apparently, my baby will EASILY be 9lbs (he's probably already close).
That's all I have to say about that.

Anna
My good friend in High School, Anna Chrouch, passed away this week. I hadn't spoken to Anna since graduation. Some stupid fight, I don't even remember... but we never recovered, then went our separate ways. I don't know the cause of death, and am so saddened by the loss of a life- so young, a friend who was so dear to me in school.
I used to drive Anna to early drill team practice every day before school. Most of my memories of our times together were laughing and singing in the car. We had the exact same taste in music. There are two songs that will always remind me of Anna, forever and always. "Losing My Religion" by REM and "Lightening Crashes" by Live. We had these silly interpretive movements that we "danced" while singing in the car. I still do these movements in my head whenever I hear these songs.
Addison went with me to the funeral this morning. I tried to get her to wear a dress "like Mommy" but quickly discovered that if I wanted a happy, reasonable daughter during the service, she would need to wear one of her tutus. So, she wore a tutu to the funeral. Go figure. I told her before hand that we would have to be very quiet, and that we would probably see some very sad people, people crying. She did really well. About half way through the service, it dawned on me that she attends Chapel at school every week, so she is used to sitting quietly in a church. Her teachers call it "God's house". So I reminded her that we were in God's house, and that helped keep her quiet for the remainder of the service.
Such a tragedy. I am glad I was able to pay my respects to her and her family. Even though some silly fight drew us apart, she was always dear to me.

"That's the Rules"
A lot going on, a lot to blog about, will get to all of it soon... But I forget so much of what Addison says and does, I wanted to make note of this while I'm thinking about it.
Addison's new way of "asking" for something, or really, getting what she wants, CRACKS ME UP. She'll tell me "That's the rules".
For example, on the way home from dinner tonight, Mike and I were discussing making a quick trip to the grocery store for orange juice. Knowing that Addison would want to go in the store with Mike, I told her in advance that she would have to wait in the car with me while he just ran in real quick. I told her that it was too cold outside to get out of the car for such a short trip to the store.
"No, Mommy. I'm going to put my jacket on and go in with Daddy. That's the rules."
Earlier today we drove by the swimming pool and she said "Maybe we can go swimming soon!" I told her yes, when the weather gets warmer, we will definitely go swimming. "We have to go swimming SOON, that's the rules."
We have obviously used the line about obeying the rules a few times... it's really hit home with her!

I Was Going to Wait...
Until everything was FINISHED. You know, before I shared with you all of the changes that have taken place in the Adair household lately. But there's too much spinning in my head, and too many pictures already to share, if I wait I'm afraid the post would be 2 pages long.
Most of you know, Mike and I are both on Spring Break. Our Spring Break goal was to switch Addy into her "big girl room" and, more specifically, her "big girl bed". This entailed painting the new room, decorating the new room, and transitioning her night time and nap time sleeps out of the crib. More on all of this later.
We also set a goal of re-painting the nursery and getting all of the baby clothes I needed to wash and put away in his room. I also needed to decide on nursery colors and a theme over spring break. Again, more on this later.
The last main "have to take care of" task was laundry. As in, tackle the laundry we were A MONTH BEHIND ON. I have to say, with pride, that we are FULLY caught up! Before we get to the above mentioned progress, you need to see this:
How cute is this teeny, tiny little outfit? (cell phone as a frame of reference to show that it is indeed TINY). Love it.
So, back to Addison's new room. Grammi and Grandpa came over on Sunday morning and were tremendously helpful in getting Addy's room pretty and painted. Her old room was pink and brown, so I bought a pink and brown comforter and figured all would be well in the new room. Until Addison insisted that she wanted a purple room. There was no purple anywhere in the bedding, or the quilt my mom made for her, so I was in a pickle. I finally ended up agreeing to one purple wall, and Addison helped paint :)
Once all the walls were painted, dry, and furniture was put back in the correct spots, it was time to make the big girl bed. Addy was very involved in this process :) She chose Princess and the Frog Sheets for her first night.
Once the bed was made, she was THRILLED!!!
She's saying "This is my big girl room!"
Now, onto the first night sleeping. First, I will get this part out of the way: she did GREAT! I only had to go back into the room twice, but she was never upset or crying, and she slept all through the night in there! And when she wakes up she stays in bed... "Mommy, I'm awake! Come get me!" Love it. Here are a couple of pics of story time, now that I can lay in bed with her while reading her her books. Love this. (pardon the double chin, etc.) :) (And yes, the PACIFIERS. The bane of my existence. Ugh.)
Saying "Night Night" to baby brother:
Now, onto baby boy's room. (yes, we are thisclose to choosing a name. If you know me and Mike, you understand that we do things in due time, be patient, please!)
He's getting Addison's nursery, which was pink and brown. So we painted over both colors with "toasted marshmallow". Again, Grammi and Grandpa offered their services and we were finished painting in what seemed to me to be record time.
The color scheme/ theme I chose is COMIC BOOKS! I'm so excited! Mike's been collecting comic books for well, forever, it seems, so I have chosen a few to display in the baby's room. My mom is making the bedding and the quilt. All black and red, all awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product! Until then, here's a sneak peek. Can't wait to see these framed (shadow boxed) along with a couple of framed posters that Mike got. Fun!:

amazingness
I have tried and tried to capture these videos and FINALLY found success tonight! This baby boy kicks, punches, squirms. etc. way more than I remember Addison moving. His movements are so strong that I can see them through my shirt ALL THE TIME. That never happened with Addison. Her kicks were more a shift in position, say, to lodging her leg in between two of my ribs and then staying there for a couple of weeks, resulting in interior bruising that hurt like the dickens. No pain here, just crazy amazing visuals to go with the crazy amazing feeling of your baby kicking you from the womb.
I'll admit, these aren't great, and if you don't know what you're looking for, you'll miss it. He's kicking pretty much constantly during both of these videos, but the main kick or punch you can see in the first video is around :11 or :12
I have my hand on my belly at the start of this one, a.) because I wanted to illustrate that my belly is not QUITE as huge as it looks from the angle of the camera. My hand looks huge, too, and we all know I don't have huge hands. I also had my had there, because b.) the main place he was kicking at that point wad under my middle finger. He has a good kick at :13, then on the total opposite side of my tummy around :23.
Enjoy! Or be creeped out! Whichever way you want to take it!
Edited to add: hmmm.... the movement doesn't show up so great in the tiny video here on the blog :( Looks way better when I watch it on my computer. Oh, well...

"Married"
Quick, before I forget.
Addison is really interested in weddings and brides lately. She's looked through our wedding album quite a few times and any time there's a girl in a white dress on tv, she'll say "look, she's getting married!"
I asked her the other day who I married.
She answered, "Daddy".
I then asked her who she is going to marry.
She thought about it a while... then finally said with confidence:
"Grammi".

ALL GIRL
My sweet Addison is 100% all girl: She loves all things Princess, Barbie, Pink, Ballet, Sugar, Spice and everything nice :)
So, it should come as no surprise that she LOVED her afternoon at the salon. She'd only had one other cut before, a little bang trim, and she did NOT enjoy the experience. Today I took her in for a little trim, as her hair was just way longer in the back than the front, and we just needed to even it out a bit. I was nervous about two things: 1.) she would hate the whole ordeal and 2.) we would lose her sweet curls with the cut. I took my chances, though, and discovered that neither of my fears came to fruition. Woo hoo!
She got to sit in a Barbie Jeep and pick the movie she wanted to watch (she picked Barbie and the Diamond Castle). Her stylist's name was Tracey and she was SO sweet and wonderful with Addison.
Admiring the finished product in the mirror. I love this picture.
So. In addition to the haircut, Addison also got HER NAILS PAINTED. This was SO right up Addy's ally. She had decided she was going to get purple nails long before we arrived, and boy did she ever get purple. Sparkly purple with glitter on top.
And THIS is my beautiful girl posing next to the Sharky's shark. She wasn't happy or anything.
I mean, I know it goes without saying, but I LOVE MY SWEET GIRL! She's the best!!
