Until everything was FINISHED. You know, before I shared with you all of the changes that have taken place in the Adair household lately. But there's too much spinning in my head, and too many pictures already to share, if I wait I'm afraid the post would be 2 pages long.
Most of you know, Mike and I are both on Spring Break. Our Spring Break goal was to switch Addy into her "big girl room" and, more specifically, her "big girl bed". This entailed painting the new room, decorating the new room, and transitioning her night time and nap time sleeps out of the crib. More on all of this later.
We also set a goal of re-painting the nursery and getting all of the baby clothes I needed to wash and put away in his room. I also needed to decide on nursery colors and a theme over spring break. Again, more on this later.
The last main "have to take care of" task was laundry. As in, tackle the laundry we were A MONTH BEHIND ON. I have to say, with pride, that we are FULLY caught up! Before we get to the above mentioned progress, you need to see this:
How cute is this teeny, tiny little outfit? (cell phone as a frame of reference to show that it is indeed TINY). Love it.
So, back to Addison's new room. Grammi and Grandpa came over on Sunday morning and were tremendously helpful in getting Addy's room pretty and painted. Her old room was pink and brown, so I bought a pink and brown comforter and figured all would be well in the new room. Until Addison insisted that she wanted a purple room. There was no purple anywhere in the bedding, or the quilt my mom made for her, so I was in a pickle. I finally ended up agreeing to one purple wall, and Addison helped paint :)
Once all the walls were painted, dry, and furniture was put back in the correct spots, it was time to make the big girl bed. Addy was very involved in this process :) She chose Princess and the Frog Sheets for her first night.
Once the bed was made, she was THRILLED!!!
She's saying "This is my big girl room!"
Now, onto the first night sleeping. First, I will get this part out of the way: she did GREAT! I only had to go back into the room twice, but she was never upset or crying, and she slept all through the night in there! And when she wakes up she stays in bed... "Mommy, I'm awake! Come get me!" Love it. Here are a couple of pics of story time, now that I can lay in bed with her while reading her her books. Love this. (pardon the double chin, etc.) :) (And yes, the PACIFIERS. The bane of my existence. Ugh.)
Saying "Night Night" to baby brother:
Now, onto baby boy's room. (yes, we are thisclose to choosing a name. If you know me and Mike, you understand that we do things in due time, be patient, please!)
He's getting Addison's nursery, which was pink and brown. So we painted over both colors with "toasted marshmallow". Again, Grammi and Grandpa offered their services and we were finished painting in what seemed to me to be record time.
The color scheme/ theme I chose is COMIC BOOKS! I'm so excited! Mike's been collecting comic books for well, forever, it seems, so I have chosen a few to display in the baby's room. My mom is making the bedding and the quilt. All black and red, all awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product! Until then, here's a sneak peek. Can't wait to see these framed (shadow boxed) along with a couple of framed posters that Mike got. Fun!:

I love the themes and colors for the rooms! Addison is so cute in her big girl bed!
Re: the pacifier. A friend told me that what she did when trying to break her daughter of the pacifier, was took her to Build A Bear and they put the pacifier inside the new bear!! That way, the pacifier is still "with her" and not in her mouth. Isn't that genius!!!
The fourth pic from top is AWESOME.
Love the rooms!!! Can't wait to see baby boy's completed room, what a fun theme!!
