Why does blogging feel so cathartic to me? Why do I want to get online and VENT? It's not because I'm not venting to my husband, because oh, I vent.
I had a whole three paragraphs here that I just deleted. Bummer. It did feel kind of good to get some frustration out in writing, but pressing delete took most of the satisfaction away with it.
You know, I try my best. I love my job. I'm not perfect. I'm a mom of 2 kids. A baby who doesn't let me get anything done, ever, and a little girl who is growing up way too fast. I run a business. I'm stressed out. I have the responsibility of ordering 400+ costumes for recital. I register for and attend multiple competitions all spring. I organize and put on a HUGE recital. I direct 2 dance teams. I teach the majority of our classes for students under the age of 4. I have a lot on my plate.
I guess that's all I have to say.

News
"Good Morning Ms. Sarah, my name is _________"
"Good Morning, ________, do you have any news today?"
"Yes. My daddy is at home with diarrhea."
**********************************************************
Side story: I was telling this story to Mike in the car, and he started laughing, to which Addy replied:
"Don't laugh about diarrhea, Daddy. I like diarrhea!"
She obviously didn't know what diarrhea is. This made us laugh harder.
"No, no, no! Don't laugh! I LOVE diarrhea! I love to play with it!"
Cue hysterical laughter from mommy and daddy (we couldn't help it). After we settled down, we were able to fill Addison in on what diarrhea really is.
"Oh. Gross."

MexiCAN'T
Oh my God. While in Dallas, we ate at the WORST RESTAURANT I have ever, ever experienced.
Chips and salsa: Chips had a funny taste, not sure what... salsa was nothing more than tomato sauce.
Mexican Martinis: dark and cloudy and not good.
Cheese enchiladas: COOKED WITH KRAFT SINGLES. No joke.
The description was cheese sauce instead of queso on any plate that you'd expect queso.
Shrimp wrapped in bacon. Over-cooked, no flavor.
Quesadillas, filled with velveeta-like cheese. Seriously, like a velveeta quesadilla. Yuck!
SOOOOO GROOOS. Mike compared it to an experience he had in New York City. I mean come on, we're still in Texas... there was no excuse for the food we were served.
Strange thing is there there appeared to be regulars there. They definitely had tables filled. So strange.
I have to say, though, that at least Aiden was happy after the meal. Cause none of us were.

Dallas World Aquarium
The day after we visited the zoo, we met up with the Bests at the Dallas World Aquarium. Addison couldn't have cared less about the cool things in the aquarium. I mean... I guess she liked it a little. There was a HUGE turtle that she called "crash" and talked like the funny turtle in Finding Nemo. But Mike and I were very disappointed in her lack of enthusiasm for everything else! There were sharks, a panther, monkeys, a HUGE crocodile... tons of cool stuff! But she wanted to get through it at warp speed. And so we ended up sitting at the front of the aquarium waiting for her cousins to finish exploring.
I did manage to get some pictures of my adorable kids and their adorable cousins though, so it wasn't a TOTAL loss (unlike the disastrous trip to the zoo)

solo
Dancing to the radio at the studio.
Note the 1:00 mark. A y-scale and the splits.
The floors are new- haven't been laid yet. Right now they're just "breathing". They're gonna be awesome when they're flat and secured (tomorrow).

mad house
Well, when we planned this trip maybe we should have checked into the details. Like the little detail that today was half-price ticket day. We were prepared for crowds, but we were not at all prepared for elbow to elbow crowds of people. It was terrible. We pretty much turned around and headed for the exit right after this picture was taken. Mike took addison without the stroller to see some elephants, zebra, giraffes, rhino, flamenco birds (l thought it was spelled flamingo but they told me I was wrong.
I'm not going to say anything else about it, because really there's not much to say. It pretty much sucked.

dadada
Aiden started REALLY saying dada and of course it's the cutest thing ever. If mike is in the room aiden will follow him around saying dadada.
I wanted to get it on video, but wasn't able to really capture the real deal. What I did capture though, is aiden being aiden. Sweet, adorable, awesome aiden.
Forgive the shaky camera. We're all used to it by now though, yes?
Stick through it to the end... his smile at the end is EVERYTHING.

the best day ever
So, not to repeat myself (see above), but...Yesterday was the BEST DAY EVER. Ever, ever, EVER.
We woke up with Abbie and Jude still here from their sleepover. This picture was taken. We hung out with the cousins and played with them until around lunch time, when Melissa picked them up. We were all SO tired, so after lunch (grilled cheese, yum) we ALL TOOK A NAP.
Can I just tell you, if you don't have two kids, you don't understand the impossibility of that last statement.
WE ALL TOOK A NAP. At the same time. All of us. Addison even napped in our bed with us.
It was a two hour nap.
After our completely remarkable and will-never-happen-again nap, we watched Jurassic Park. Ugh, it was on cable so we had to sit through commercials (made me realize that we NEVER watch live tv anymore). But it was so fun and Addison was FASCINATED. She loved it! Her cousins all love it too, so this really shouldn't surprise me, but I have to say I didn't really expect it. It was fun to watch her watch the movie- she was so into it!
Top the day off with a fun bath and a night without tantrums, and there you have my perfect day. The best day ever, actually.

mad props
Melissa blogged tonight that since Abbie's not feeling well, she got to pick out a movie tonight. She chose a DOCUMENTARY about BEAVERS.
Um, I can say with 100% certainty that Addison would NEVER choose a documentary to watch. Never, ever, ever. Barbie or Princess wins hands down. Although, I have to say, we introduced her to Jurassic Park yesterday, and she loved it. I should blog about that, actually.
Whatever. Anyway. I'm not sure I like what that says about me as a parent. Melissa is EXACTLY the kind of mother I used to think I would be, back when I was a nanny (10+ years ago). The kind of mother I want to be, but just AM NOT. I still think I'm doing a pretty good job at parenting, I'm not really beating myself up... not really. I just really admire her for her tenacity and determination to raise amazing people. And that's what she's doing. Her kids are going to be super great people.
I mean, she chose a DOCUMENTARY. That's just crazy.

Sleepover Shenanigans
First, I have to say, Melissa has some AMAZING kids. They are just such good kids. I don't want to over-use the word "amazing", but they really are.
We've had a fun time having them sleep over. We looked at Uncle Mike's comic book collection, watched some weird Green Lantern cartoon that the boys enjoyed, went for a long walk to the park, watched UT basketball, ordered Double Daves, had a bath, enjoyed a long story time, watched ANOTHER movie (Barbie and the 12 dancing Princesses, and yes, Jude was okay with this)... all in one afternoon/evening!
Addison had the hardest time falling asleep out of the three kids. Jude fell asleep first. Abbie and Addy both had a difficult time "getting comfortable" and then Addison just got to where she was so tired, every little thing set her off and there were lots of tears... Eventually we got it all worked out. They all slept great and woke up nice and early :-)
Since I am such a super Auntie, I went out and got the kids MCDONALDS for breakfast. You're welcome, Melissa. The girls are now dressed like princesses and everyone is playing with Star Wars toys while Jude and Mike are having a serious discussion about the movie.
I LOVE having cousins so close in age AND proximity! They have such a sweet, special bond and are creating such amazing memories.

Cousins abbie and jude are sleeping over tonight. We're kicking things off with a dance party. Jude isn't participating, he's more interested in uncle Mikes comic book collection.

Traffic - Theater Rehearsal - Tokyo's Choreography
The same dance as below, at rehearsal. I think this one is even better than that one. Uh-mazing, really.
Some SYTYCD peeps are there- Molly, Ade, Brandon, Caitlyn are the ones I noticed, but I'm sure there are more.
playing chase
Possibly the worst video quality ever, but also possibly the cutest video ever. Which way are you gonna choose to see it? Gah, always such a pessimist.

peek a boo!
Camera phones are the coolest. I was able to get a photo of aidens first peek a boo game! Tonight, while I filled his humidifier I had him waiting in his crib... you know to contain him, since he's into EVERYTHING. I heard him squealing and turned around to see him stretching his neck to hide his eyes behind the top of the crib, then bend down to look at me. Peek a boo! SO FLIPPING CUTE!

I just really don't feel well and am especially cranky right now. Sweet mike put celine in the dvd player for me, and it seems he knew just what I needed. I'm feeling happier already.

vertigo?
More like verti GO AWAY.
(ok, so I just thought of that and HAD to post it. I really do impress myself sometimes)
But seriously, I've had it since Wednesday. This morning I thought it was gone, but it hit me hard again this afternoon.
It is THE WORST. Constant spinning, feeling like I'm going to pass out at any moment. I went to the er yesterday, because I had a killer headache along with it, I was barely functioning. The dr. said the headaches and vertigo are unrelated, but I'm not convinced. He also referred me to an ENT who "specializes in dizziness". Sounded good to me yesterday, but now I'm thinking that sounds totally bogus.
So, yep. Vertigo. I mean, really???

Aiden hasn't been feeling well for a while now. He was tugging on his ear over the weekend, so we took him in to the doctor on Monday. Ears looked fine. No fever. But just out of sorts.
Well, the fever arrived yesterday. Poor baby. He won't nap, either, which I know just makes him feel crummier.
I hate when my babies are sick. :'(

to clarify
Mike asked me if I don't capitalize addisons name on purpose. The thought of other people wondering the same thing is driving me bonkers.
The answer is no. I'm just too lazy to correct auto correct.
Glad I got that off my chest.
Oh, and one other thing. I'm aware that I am still posting nude-ish photos of my kids, despite my declaration of stopping. I just can't help it. They're so dang cute. And once again my laziness gets in the way. I'm too lazy to make the blog private.
Glad we got that all cleared up!
